Dir: Joanna Hogg (2008) UK 1hr 40min

Cast: Kathryn Worth, Tom Hiddleston, Mary Roscoe

Anna (Kathryn Worth) - mid-40s, failing marriage, childless - arrives alone at a Tuscan villa to stay with the large bourgeois family ofan old school friend. She soon detaches herself from the adults, drawn to the carefree youth among the group, especially the confident Oakley (Hiddleston). A candid depiction of a woman adrift and disorientated, fearing that she is condemned to a life on the periphery of events, Unrelated is an illuminating study of personal crises over the aging process and our need to belong. A debut film by Brit Joanna Hogg which alludes to the detached style of vintage Antonioni and the simmering class dissections of Joseph Losey, and winner of the International Critic’s Award at the 2007 London Film Festival.
